Truly "UPSCALE"

5.0/ 5

If you want a unique experience, then Upscale Getaways at the White Oaks Resort and Spa is the place to come to for Pesach, and a truly “UPSCALE” experience. From the moment you arrive to the time you leave, your whole existence is ROYAL. You are made to feel like you are coming home. The entire staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. After going to this hotel for many years, the staff knows your name and welcomes you back. The check-in process is the fastest and easiest of any hotel that we have been to. Within minutes, your luggage is in your room.. The lectures offered are first rate, inspiring and given by people who are very knowledgeable. Ben Camille and his entire staff seem to know in advance what your needs will be. They know “NO BOUNDS” in seeing to your comfort and enjoyment. The meals are literally “out of this world ‘ and presented elegantly, with huge portions and numerous variations everyday.that excel in taste and served in timely fashion. You simply can’t walk away feeling hungry between the meals, the 24 hour Tea Room with high tea, sushi and every kind of snacks, fruit, drinks and more is amazing to say the least!! The programs for children and teens is very well thought out and encourages new friendships. Our grandchildren love this Pesach program!!! The religious services meet everyone’s needs. The availability of attending professional baseball games in Toronto and attending wonderful plays in Niagra on the Lake are only fringe benefits offered by Upscale Getaways. We have been to other Pesach programs in the past in Florida, the Bahamas,Las Vegas to name but a few, but NOTHING compares to Upscale Getaways and White Oaks. The staff treat you like family, and always answer “WITH PLEASURE.” You do not have to look for a better Pesach program. Ben Camille is an absolute gem and a real mentch. He goes out of his way to meet all of your needs, and definitely makes Upscale Getaways an upscale experience. We have not had the pleasure of speaking to Dov as much, but no doubt he is the same mentch as Ben. We and our children and grandchildren look forward to another Pesach with Upscale Getaways!!! Amazing Pesach both times!

5.0/ 5

Pesach at with Upscale Getaways in Canada is amazing. My entire family has gone two years in a row and we are planning on going for our third year. The first, and most amazing part, is the food. I have never seen so much food, cooked so well, with so much variety, at a pesach program. The waitstaff are amazing, the are great with kids and will even grab things from the kitchen or specially cook food if you have a picky eater! My two year old would only eat french fries and chicken nuggets the entire trip and they cooked it especially for him for each meal! The next amazing part is the kids program. I literally dropped my children off at 9am daily and picked them up in time for meals and they were begging to go back. My daughter even woke up early just so she would be ready in time to get to groups first thing in the morning and not be late! We have been so happy at this program and trust me we have been to a few and this is really the best one so far!.

Great time had by all

5.0/ 5

We have been coming back year after year to upscale Niagra because it does not disappoint. We came alone and loved it, told our kids and whenever possible they join us with ourgrand kids. We love white Oak resort. The staff treat us like family. The place is beautiful and they are very accommodating. Upscale staff is very attentive and aim to please. The services and Judaic program are very inclusive and everyone can learn a lot. That is what I look forward to every year. The food is unbelievably good and over the top. My husband goes home during Chol Hamoed for work and the staff send him home well supplied with food and anything he needs. Our kids and grandkids love it as well. The babysitting and children’s programs are wonderful. A great time was had by all. We are looking forward to returning this year.

Made Pesach Enjoyable Again

5.0/ 5

My family and I have been to several Pesach Programs over the years, and all were better than doing it yourself at home. But the last number of years we have been going to “Upscale”, some by ourselves, and some with the children and grandchildren. Firstly, the program is absolutely first rate, with nothing missing. Having said that, it is also very Heimish and down to earth with both the people they attract and their entire attitude towards serving you and Pesach. They is never a shortage of hand made shmura matzah, plenty of wines from all over the world, besides the usual meat options, there is also vegetarian and fish at all meals. The 24 hour ‘tea’ room is in reality well stocked with vegetables, fruits, nosh, candies, drinks, and yes………….even some tea. The ‘in house’ Rabbi Aaron Selevan and his fantastic wife Rebbetzin Leslie Selevan, are both down to earth, knowledgeable, and always available ….(.i don’t think they even sleep!)., The grandkids totally loved the full service and staffed camp. It is not a baby sitting service, but a real camp. They have sports and yom tov activiities, but also day trips to surrounding area by private buses. There is even a carnival with games and jumping balloon house on site, with face painting and all…………..included! They even have special kid friendly menus that are so good the adults usually join in too. Every year they bring in new and exciting lecturers from all over the world to speak on a broad range of topics, yes , there is Daf Yomi and serious text study classes also. During Chol Hamoed there are trips for adults to all the surrounding areas with events to do such as Baseball games, Theater, winery tours (kosher!). Niagara Falls is very close by as are numerous other tourist spots that are so enjoyable. I, myself, love the Niagara College Campus across the street with their large greenhouse filled with flowers and the hiking trails up the mountain ridge in the back of them. The only complaint I have ever heard is …………………..that there is too much food, but no program can be perfect!

Superb Pesach program,Upscale Getaway,White Oak Hotel & Spa,@Niagara on the Lake

5.0/ 5

One of the premier Passover programs anywhere is Upscale Getaway’s Passover program at the White Oak Hotel & Spa, at Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. The property is an outstanding gem and the Yom Tov Ruach is palpable from the moment of arrival. All of the hotel rooms are reserved for guests of the Pesach program and all rooms are spacious and comfortable. Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful community close to Niagara Falls, ON. It’s a convenient drive from nearby Toronto, CA, Western NY and communities in the Midwest like Detroit, MI. This program not only attracts those in nearby communities but family, friends and extended family come from all over Canada, the U.S. Israel and even Europe. Davening during the entire period of Yom Tov is held in a dedicated facility in the hotel near the dining area. Preceding davening Rabbi Selliven, who coordinates religious services, delivers a dvar Torah which is informative and sets the mood as Yom Tov is about to begin. In the many years we have attended this program I have always looked forward to Rabbi Selliven’s insights. Sedorim are arranged to accommodate private groups of friends and families or for those who wish to join a larger communal seder. Programming through the entire week include shiurim by guest rabbis and scholars and presentations on contemporary issues confronting Jews in North America, Israel and other parts of the world. Guests present issues on various aspects of life from science to entertainment. Presenters have been distinguished guest rabbis, a columnist from the Wall Street Journal, a couple who produce entertainment films shown on Net Flix and a former executive secretary from a Major Canadian Jewish Organization. These presenters have one thing in common. They work in the mainstream of the working world and are committed to personal Jewish values. The operators of this Passover Get-a-way have many years of experience. This is obvious once guests find the food is both delicious and abundant. And the tea room is open for snacks and soft drinks before the dining rooms have opened or after they are closed. During the first and last days of Yom Tov and on Shabbat, Kiddush is served on a grand scale. Wines, and kosher lePesach hard drinks are available for all of the appropriate age. Breakfast is a major buffet undertaking. During chol hamoed custom omelets are crafted and a variety of fish, veggies, yogurts and cheeses are available. And during chol hamoed containers are available for those who wish to prepare their own box lunches from the breakfast assortment. They can plan a day trip/excursion to the many attractions nearby without worrying about how to secure Pesach food. Of course the major attraction in the area is Niagara Falls. A tour on the Maid of the Mist or a trip behind the Falls is a must. But don’t forget the arboretum which is an outstanding display of indoor horticulture. Each year the program offers a day trip to the theater at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. There are several theaters in the area. We have gone to the main theater arranged by the program for the group and we have gone independently to another theater at Niagara on the Lake. All are produced and acted by first rate professionals. The program also offers a day trip during chol hamoed to the Diamond Wineries which is home to a Kosher winery. This area is one of only two places in the world that produces ice wine and the Kosher winery offers both a guided tour of the facility and tasting of their Kosher ice wine, which is also available for purchase. Other areas to explore in addition to the Falls area are Toronto, Hamilton Ontario as well as Buffalo, NY. Our grandchildren were thrilled to visit Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and we were surprised by the outstanding display of 50 pieces of outdoor art painted on the exterior of downtown and industrial buildings in the port city of Hamilton. We look forward on our next trip to visiting the WWII airplane museum in Hamilton. In Buffalo we visited Martin House, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous architectural projects. It is now owned by the nearby University of Buffalo. As a pharmacy alumnus of UB I was invited to a private tour of their recently built pharmacy building. The campus is amazing. Two things that make the experience at this program even more wonderful than what I described are the service of the personnel at the hotel and the nature of the guests who attend the program. All the hotel personnel from the chamber maid to the desk clerks are anxious to please. Because this is a resort hotel they are used to having children around the facilities for long periods of time. The staff is constantly on guard to clean up spills and to maintain freshness at the hotel. Not only does the staff do their jobs they do it cheerfully. As you know, attitude goes a long way towards making you feel welcome. Through the years we have come to the Upscale Passover program at White Oaks at Niagara on the Lake we have found that the guests who attend are friendly and inclusive. The warmth that guests of this program extend to each other, regardless of their background, is wonderful. We look back fondly at our experiences at Niagara on the Lake and look forward to many more in the future.

the best experience every year

5.0/ 5

I have been coming to Upscale Getaways for 7 years now. It is something I look forward to every year. Everything is first class from the room to the food to the activities that you can participate in. I enjoy the yom tov programs with the different speakers every year. The program is very hemmish and it is something you want to be a part of. I have encouraged friends from the Detroit area to be a part of the program.. I am very fortunate to know Ben and his team and they do not dissipoint. If someone is looking for a program for the first time for Pesach with your family Upscale Getaways is the one to choose. Over the course of the many years that I have been coming I see a lot of familiar faces who come back every year with there extended family which says a lot of the program.

The Best Overall Pesach Experience.

5.0/ 5

Our Pesach 2019 experience with Upscale Getaways has to be rated 5 Stars. First of all working with Ben to get all 14 of my family accommodated in the White Oak Hotel was as pleasurable experience. The team that manages this program is incredibly engaging, honest, and communicative. I must say that being able to get my children and 8 grandchildren away for Pesach was a bit of a coordinating challenge because each one had their own personal requirements relating to beds, food, and activities. Ages of the kids ranged from 11 months to 21 years. Ben and Dov worked with us to make sure we were all suitably placed in rooms that worked great. Now for the hotel itself and their staff. I must say being a globe trotter and having stayed in some of the worlds best hotels the White Oak was a complete surprise, in a great way. The staff is incredible, always smiling, instantly responsive to any request. This has to be the cleanest hotel I have ever experienced, competes with Japanese hotels. The sports facilities are comprehensive and vast. Tennis, Raquel Ball, professional gym, spa, you name it. I believe they built the sports facility first and added the hotel. The hotel is located not far from The Falls and the town of Niagra on the Lake. A very nice and approachable little town with beautiful scenery of the Lake. The best part of the hotel location, at least if you ask my granddaughters is that directly across the street there is an immense shopping mall, actually it’s a factory outlet with major high end brands. Now for the really important stuff. The food! Nothing short of world class. From unlimited beverages, wine, and Shmurah matzoh all week long to choice of main dishes, vegan options or vegetarian. Each meal was above and beyond what you would expect from the scale of the crowd. Totally delicious, served graciously by an amazing wait staff. The menu each day was different my family was very impressed and excited each and every day with meal time. By the way I should mention that breakfast was also amazing from cold item choices, to warm and cooked items during chal hamoed. You never felt crowded or had to wait on long lines to be served. The davening was also very pleasing and anyone could feel comfortable with the nuschot and the Baalbek tefilot. The program staff and speakers were also top notch, entertaining and informative. Excursions were available for all ages. There was lots to keep you busy during the day. Box lunches were always available for day trips. Busses transported to event venues. Coordination and administrative staff were just amazing and it must be stated that they were the linchpin of the program that made it work. You don’t have to go to Thailand, Portugal, or Italy to have a 5 Star experience, Upscale Getaways was just perfect. My family wants to know if we can dot again in 2020?

Awesome experience for the entire family!

5.0/ 5

The program is top notch.!They don’t miss a beat. First, the hotel is fantastic. Has a first rate health club with squash and tennis courts. Grounds are vast and kept very clean. The staff is ridiculously friendly and you get service with a smile all the time. The food was top notch and they don’t skimp at all. Speakers were informative and engaging. There were plenty of activities my kids- both the younger ones and teenagers. Crowd was very nice and assuming. Mixture of modern and black hat.- no Judgement. Everyone got. All in all a fantastic vacation for my family. Well worth the money- which is cheap compared to other programs.

Our extended family has been attending this program for a couple of years now and plan to return. No matter what our different background and religious practice level is, we all feel very comfortable and welcomed. The speaker topics are varied and for the most part very interesting and enjoyable. The food is plentiful and tasty. The vibe is comfortable and welcoming. All in all a winner!

First Class All The Way

5.0/ 5

My family loves Upscale Getaways! Full disclosure: I am biased because I was also a speaker last year, but that doesn’t apply to my kids and our friends, and everybody loved this program. The food, accommodations, programs and the community were all first class all the way. This is a marvelous way to spend Pesach, and the price to value ratio cannot be beat.

Not a worry the whole week

5.0/ 5

Every day we can count on a few things, and incredible breakfast lunch and dinner, and entertaining programming. Mid week we had several opportunities a day to do trips in the Niagara region, from shooting to walking tours to maid of the mist. On the holiday days them self they were wonderful speakers and panels that were thought-provoking and interesting. Every meal was incredible and for an entire week we didn’t feel not full. My kids came home asking if we could eat matzo because they thought that we forgot to celebrate Passover that year. I felt like no food was missing or restricted. While normally we are dying to break the fast, this year we hardly cared to do so.

An excellent way to spend Pesach

5.0/ 5

The facilities, food and festivities are excellent. The hotel is top notch, the exercise club is convenient and well equipped. The location is good with lots to do nearby. The spiritual aspect, which is also important, is well handled. Many Pesach programs are criticized for being all about the materialistic with the religious aspect being relegated to the back burner. This program ensures that in the middle of the the luxury there is also a meaningful Pesach experience that will leave warm memories for the participants.

I’ve been going to Pesach programs practically all my adult. life. Mostly either family or now by ourselves. Some were ok, some were great and first class (Eden Roc in Miami) But I can’t rave enough about the facilities, the food and the programs. at White Oaks We made great new friends who have been coming back for years. We are planning to do the same.

What an Amazing Pesach Experience!

5.0/ 5

We just came back from our first time going to a Pesach hotel with Upscale Getaways in Niagara Falls. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this program! We were at the White Oaks Resort & Spa in Niagara Falls. Every aspect of this program was taken care of to perfection. The food that was served three times a day was beyond anything I had ever seen-veal chops the size of ping-pong paddles, ribs, stuffed chicken, lamb…endless! There were always choices of vegetarian meals and children’s meals. Breakfast and lunch were different every day, and included french toast and pancakes! We often joked that we might have ended up at the wrong place! Chef Moshe was absolutely perfect for this job. Fresh fruit was always available, not to mention the Tea Room with its 24/7 hours to go and have a bite to eat. As if anyone was EVER hungry! Children’s programming was fantastic, day camps and daycares running all day long. Every day there were choices of trips for adults, teens and young kids. I loved that the swimming pool needed a room card to enter, making it safe for kids to run around the hotel without worrying about a thing. The hotel staff was fantastic as well. Always there for everything we all needed, no matter how big or small. Both my husband and I said we have NEVER felt more relaxed in our lives, even when vacationing. Everything is done for us, from setting, clearing the tables, cooking the meals, housekeeping services in our individual rooms. The speakers were wonderful, and meeting new people was a bonus also. I cannot recommend this place enough…sign me up for next year!!
