Since 1994 PS foodservice has developed and run unique and custom group programs for thousands of satisfied participants, in locations worldwide. For the first time ever, we have developed a unique Passover experience in Cochin – one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations. This Passover program is run at the Grand Hyatt is based on the famous Kerala backwaters, which has become a destination in itself, as well as being within a short distance of some of the most beautiful sights. With our years of experience running Kosher tours throughout the world, be assured that this Passover program with us will provide amazing memories that will last a lifetime!

The upscale five-star hotel, based on the edge of the beautiful Kerala backwaters, with modern rooms and facilities. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, as well as a gym. Rooms have scenic views of either the city, or the tropical backwaters.

Kochi, Kerala

Kochi is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as ‘God’s Own Country’.

Set on a magnificent estuary, serene Kochi has been drawing traders, explorers and travelers to its shores for over 600 years. 

Nowhere else in India could you find such an intriguing mix: giant Chinese fishing nets, a 450-year-old+ synagogue, Portuguese- and Dutch-era houses and the crumbling remains of the British Raj. The result is an unlikely blend of medieval Portugal and Holland and an English village grafted onto the tropical Malabar Coast.

Named as one of the ten paradises of the world by National Geographic Traveler, Kerala is famous especially for its ecotourism initiatives and beautiful backwaters.

As part of the Passover program, you can visit the famous hilltop station and tea plantations, which are picture-perfect out of a guide book. Envision lush green hills, with mist rising over them. Enjoy the backwaters of Kerala, right from the hotel, with fisherman using Chinese style fishing nets, as well as view birds and plants unique to this magnificent place.

Take the opportunity to walk through the history of the Jews of Cochin, a fascinating journey that dates to the times of the second temple! With visits to synagogues in the city and villages, be sure to connect to the heritage of our people, over Passover.

Dining, Kashrut & Supervision

Unique to this program in India is our ability to prepare delicious Glatt Kosher for Passover cuisine on location in exotic destinations, off the beaten path, under strict supervision. Our master chefs specialize in nutritious, well-balanced, beautifully prepared and presented meals, prepared in separate meat and dairy kitchens. We take full advantage of our natural surroundings; in Cochin our menus reflect local cuisine, including using a large variety of the area’s world-renowned fresh fish, fruits and vegetables.

All food and standards for the program will be Glatt Kosher LePesach (Gebrochts), no kitniyot, all wine is Mevushal; Shmura Matza & Cholov Yisroel products. Supervision will be under the auspices of Rabbi Haim Talmid, of Far East Kosher.

Activities, Amenities & Excursions

The Passover in India adventure includes much more than a hotel and food. We take care of every aspect of your vacation  including:

• On-site synagogue for daily Minyanim.

• Airport transfers.

• Each comfortable room has a view, spacious bathrooms with bathtub, air conditioning, cable plasma television, WiFi connection, king or two full size beds, refrigerator, security box, night tables and chairs, house phone, closet, laundry service and concierge. Handicap accessible rooms available upon request.
