I’m So Glad We Packed That!
When families get ready to pack up for an international Pesach vacay, there is just. So. Much. From jackets to swimsuits to shabbos outfits, suits and sportswear, there’s a lot to think about. We’re dealing with multiple climates, multiple people, ages- you get it. With all of the wardrobe considerations, international Pesach travelers might forget some of these not-to-be-missed items.
Tech Support
Extra chargers and converters. Make sure that you have ample chargers and converters ( some come with multiple ports) for all of your devices. You do NOT want to be stuck on a long flight, at an airport, etc., with kids who are not sufficiently entertained, or be unable to blow dry or shave.
A Pain In The Neck
Think back to any and all medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, you and your family have taken in the last few months. For any daily medications, make sure you have enough to get you through a week or two after Pesach. For adult Tylenol or ibuprofen- a couple of days worth in your suitcase can save you time trying to track it down locally. With kids, it’s always good to keep a thermometer, kids’ ibuprofen/tylenol and Benadryl while you travel. Your hotel and or program will likely have some of these, but if you or your family have a sudden need, it’s helpful to have them on hand, in a language and dosages you’re familiar with. Don’t forget sunblock and bandaids while we’re at it.
But First, Coffee
From adults to kids, it seems we all have an emotional support cup or container. Instagram-ready Stanley cups, baby bottles, sippies and even reusable hot and cold drink cups. Don’t forget to pack whichever of these will help make you feel hydrated and comfortable in your international home away from home. It also doesn’t hurt to be able to easily transport hot tea or an iced coffee as your explore the resort and beyond.
Hopefully by now you have your chargers, converters, medi-packs and Passover emotional support beverage containers ready to go. Even with all that, life and surprises still happen! Happy travelers know that plan for what you can is best but at the end of the day, being able to roll and adapt positively with whatever comes your way will be the key to enjoying your exciting adventure this Pesach.
