Peach 2022 Mazagan
4.0.0

Sarah Tours Mazagan Beach resort Overall 7/10 Hotel - Beautiful, spacious, good service. Rooms were nice and comfortable, common spaces and pool beautiful. Location - Morocco is a must see destination and we enjoyed visiting different places there. Hotel is located in a resort city so a bit far from most interesting tourist sites. Food - there was plenty of food but sometimes it took a while to replenish. Most meals were buffet style and the table service meals on chag at night were served family style and a bit lacking (ie. fish plated and meat, potatoes and vegetable on a platter) schnitzel and French fries available sometimes they often did run out of that. While there was enough food it was very repetitive and taste was mediocre. Food often looked recycled. Desserts were better than the meals. Notably the sedarim were highly disorganized had to beg for enough maror end the noise in the dining room made it difficult to hear people at your own table without shouting. For wine and alcohol drinkers there was only cheap wine and very limited arak and patron during chag at kiddish only. Tea room was open for a few hours each day and had very basic hot/cold drinks fruit and some cakes and chips. ** if you have kids or like to snack bring along plenty of KP snacks from home. Packed lunches were salmon or cold chicken so my advice would be to pick your own from breakfast Service - there were plenty of waiters and staff but even so you would have to ask many times to get things like hand matzah, drinks, ketchup… since we had a fluent French speaker with us it was not a language barrier just lack of organization. Customer service/ program operations - highly disorganized, no response to emails, first couple of days the organizer was hard to find and no one available to answer basic questions. After first 2 days there was usually someone available but while they listen to any issues they seldom did anything to correct. Entertainment- was almost non existent they had some music very amateur at dinner each night. Only the last night they had a very large and exciting mimuna that was loads of fun and had a lot of entertainment. Child care/ Day Camp/ Kids Meals - we didn’t travel with any small children so I can’t comment. Organized Tours- I would encourage anyone attending this program to tour but privately. The group tours were highly unorganized did not visit all places listed on itinerary. They made you pay additional entrance fees aside from cost of tour. Tour guides were hard to understand their English and had very little interesting information. Crowd - there we approximately 900 people on the program which was a lot particularly in the dining room and lobby. It was a very diverse crowd with about 60% French and Israeli and 40% American. While it was diverse it was predominantly a more modern crowd with a portion of the people who were traditional and not shomer shabbat it was unusual to see people on their phones during chag meals. Davening and Shiurim- there were both sefardic and ashkenaz minyanim. On the ashkenz side there was no preorganized person to daven or lain it was pretty much self organized by the people attending minyan. There was one shiur each day during chag no other speakers or classes. Summary- for someone looking for a beautiful hotel in a great tourist destination with ample kosher food available and does not care much about quality of food or entertainment this is a good option. You have a beautiful hotel and 3 full meals every day but no extras. Many people on the program had stomach issues during chag. We personally had 3 people who had a bad stomach bug and were very careful not to drink the water or have ice in our drinks. I would like to note that knowing all the information after the fact I would still choose to go.
