We had our family of 43, plus a chef and her assistant, at the Wilburton for the first days of Pesach (Passover). We took over 3.5 of the buildings and had a wonderful time. Venue: the property combines natural beauty with luxurious living, but also with plenty of privacy for each family group (it's optional to have daily maid service). In particular, there were great gathering spaces in each of the houses, as well as en suite bathrooms in almost all bedrooms. Staff: the staff was incredibly accommodating including on text, email, and voice. Any special requests or weird questions ("can we donate beach towels to you afterward") were answered with patience and kindness. Because the staff is very familiar with kosher groups and needs, they were also particularly helpful with which dishes/urns/etc. might need us to bring new ones, and also which spaces might work well for prayer services. Food: We brought in a kosher chef and used the on-site koshering service. It worked beautifully. Note that chabad will not kasher certain appliances such as dishwashers, even if they are stainless steel, so your chef may have to do that part of the koshering if that is your custom. Community: A surprising benefit of this property at Pesach is that we met new friends who were also there to celebrate. The venue facilitated communication, but it was never forced. Whenever you have a group this size for an extended visit, things will come up, and the strength of a property is how those are managed. For example, someone's shower set off the fire alarm one evening. The Wilburton and local fire-fighting staff were incredibly helpful and understanding of the situation, and fixed it immediately. Area: Keep in mind that Vermont's weather is notoriously fickle. It's important to bring bug spray and sunscreen and light clothes, but also warmer clothes, a winter jacket, and layers, even an umbrella, all for April travel.
